Memorial Day

We had a fun Memorial Day weekend up in the woods.  Most of Trevor's family came too and it was one big party!  The kids had a blast playing outside all day and I had fun relaxing and catching up on sleep!  It was a really nice excuse to lay down with the baby when he needed a nap!

On Sunday, we went to the lake and tried to have a picnic.  The wind laughed at our attempts.  Check out all that hair flying!  Even Adam's hair is standing straight up!

The boys were pretty miserable and cold.  Of course we had left our jackets back at the trailer.  The wind was very obnoxious and sent the boys and I scurrying back to the car for shelter.  The boys finished up their picnic in the back of the Tahoe.

I thought this was so cute.  Hunter has zero personal space boundaries.  If he is sitting next to someone, he is basically sitting on top of them.  When we go out to eat, Trevor & I are always telling him to scoot over and give us some space!  I guess he loves to snuggle. 

Adam is officially a pro at camping.  He did great sleeping when it was time and taking naps every few hours.  He is just a happy baby all the time!  It's so wonderful!

Hunter & Chase

His nickname used to be Sad-am back when he was colicky.  Now it's hard to believe he was ever cranky!

My kids have a way of saying innocent things that put a smile on my face.

Last Day of Preschool

That was a fast school year!  Hunter's last day of preschool was Tuesday before everyone else was released.  Since he had a summer birthday, he was able to take a treat to share with the class.  His treat of choice?  Well, it was cupcakes.  But, I noticed I had a sugar cookie mix hanging out in the pantry just waiting for an excuse to be used.  He settled on the sugar cookies but only if we could use my Halloween cookie cutters and sprinkles.  He was obviously trying to relive the one and only time we made sugar cookies, last Halloween.  It is a bittersweet time of year for me.  I will miss my sacred 2 hours of free time T-TH, but it will be nice to have more down time at home and not race to get the kids to school every day.  Hunter will do another year of preschool before he goes off to Kindergarten, so this farewell is no biggie for us.  He will return to the same preschool in a few months.  Jacob attended two different preschools and it was definitely the right thing for him.  He was ready for a change.  Hunter is excited to be able to return to the same preschool.  He enjoys consistency.  It's funny how each kid is really their own little person and personality!

Cooling Off

Having kids makes things interesting.  I regularly find random things in my fridge.  Jacob told me he had left his toys out in the sun and their arms & legs were wiggly.  Apparently the plastic got soft from the heat and he was concerned.  Never a dull moment!

Feeding Time

Adam had his first taste of baby cereal.  He didn't much care for it...can't say I blame him.  That stuff is nasty!  I haven't been looking forward to starting him on foods.  It's just way easier to nurse him!  I guess I don't want more things to do!  We'll revisit the whole solid food thing next month! 

Visting Blake

We went to visit our new niece/cousin Blake.  I still can't believe my brother, Bryce is a DAD!

Adam is usually way more shy.  I was so surprised he didn't burst into tears when Bryce was holding him.  He must have the special touch.

Nothing like a 2 week old to make my baby look like a GIANT!

True Love

We found out just how much Jacob's frogs love each other.  They "hug" all the time!!!

I'm a little concerned about having to deal with tadpoles.  Hopefully they are both males!

Big Boy Bath

Adam has graduated to the big boy bath.  He was getting too big for his baby bath and he is doing well sitting up so I thought we'd try this out.  Turns out, he LOVES it!  He was talking and smiling the entire time.  He gets so excited when it's bathtime.  When I start to fill up the tub, he starts kicking his legs.  It's so cute!

How is he 5 months old already??

Back To Pinetop

For Mother's Day weekend, I compromised and we towed our trailer up to Pinetop to leave for the summer.  The boys (Trevor included) have been DYING to go "camping."  I was a little nervous for all of us to sleep in the trailer together with the baby.  This was his first camping trip.  I wasn't sure how much sleep we would actually get, especially since the boys like to get up early with the sun.  It ended up not being so bad, especially since it was only for 2 nights.

This turned out to be a pretty handy place to stick him!  I'm glad we brought it. 

He loved being outside.

Trevor's parents were up there as well.  It was fun spend some time together!

The days were a lot warmer than I thought they would be.  Unfortunately I only packed long sleeves & pants for Adam.  I had to de-pants him by noon.  Luckily I found an emergency onesie in the diaper bag for him to wear the next day.

Hunter decided this rusty old can was the perfect place to store the grasshopper he had found.  I decided he needed a more appropriate (and kid-friendly) container, so we went to the dollar store (a favorite Pinetop tradition) and got some decent bug holders.

They found this "elk bone" (Hunter called it that all weekend) on one of their nature walks.  I cringed every time I saw that thing.  Imagine all the germs on it!!!

Does Jacob look really old in this picture?? 

Trevor took me out to breakfast at Darby's (LOVED IT) and his parents graciously watched all the boys for us so we could go alone (LOVED IT MORE).  It was so nice to have a break and enjoy some rare alone time together!  I told Trevor to remind me to get a picture with my boys on Mother's Day before we left, which he didn't.  I remembered after I had strapped them all in the car to go home.  Doh!!!  I knew I would regret it forever, so I made everyone get out of the car and pose for my Mother's Day picture.

Jacob got these at the dollar store.  He told me he knew what he was going to be for Halloween... 

A Grown Up!!

Adam didn't do so well on the way home.  He cried for the last half of the trip.  He had enough of the car!  It was not fun to listen to him cry himself to sleep (he only stayed asleep for maybe 30 mins).  I NEVER have to listen to him cry cause he is SUCH a good baby.  I felt really bad for him.  We stopped a few times to try and feed him, but he didn't want to eat.  He just wanted to be DONE with the car seat!  We were so relieved to finally pull into our driveway!

Petting Zoo

Jacob's school hosted a petting zoo.  It was a fun change from our regular Friday morning routine and of course, the kids loved it!

Jacob and his cousin, McKenzie, get to be in the same Kindergarten class. 

What is it about baby animals that is so precious?  Even if they grow up to be ugly creatures, all baby animals are so adorable!!

I have a soft spot in my heart for bunnies, especially black ones.  We had a bunny named Misty before Jacob was born.  She moved with us to California and then we brought her back and gave her away after Jacob was born.  It was too hard to have a bunny in our small apartment, not to mention it was against the rules unless we wanted to pay pet rent.  Plus I just had my first baby and my hands were a little full at the moment.  So she traveled back here to AZ when we came for Christmas and we gave her away to some girl I met at Petsmart.  I never saw her again :(  This bunny looks EXACTLY like her.
