Cuteness

Adam has discovered outside and he likes it!  He is like a little dog.  When the door opens, he runs to it and tries to escape.  One of his favorite things to do is go out front and walk around on the grass & the driveway. 

Friday Fun Day

My friend in the ward started a play group called Friday Fun Day.  She plans fun activities for the group to do every week.  I enjoy getting out and having Hunter socialize with other kids his age.  He mostly spends the day watching TV and waiting for Jacob to come home from school.  The first activity we attended was a tour of Peter Piper Pizza.  The kids had a blast learning how to make pizzas and what each machine does.  They even got to order their own personal sized pizza and received free tokens to play some games.  I was impressed that Peter Piper Pizza would host us and give us a free meal & tokens! 

This is Hunter's favorite game.  Every time we see this game anywhere he requests to play.

Another fun activity we attended was a tour of Fry's Grocery store.   We were taken around the store and learned about nutrition.  The kids got to sample a banana, some turkey & cheese, and bread.

They also got to see a lobster up close and even touch it!

They got to go behind the scenes inside the dairy case.

They loved looking through the milk & juice to see us on the other side by the doors.

They even got to experience the checkout register first hand.

They also received a goody bag with some fun things.  They had such a good time learning about the grocery store!  It was even funner since that is the store we shop at most frequently!

This is where Adam spends the majority of our Friday Fun Day.  He's so good!!!

Flagstaff & Grand Canyon Anniversary Trip

Well, hello there, neglected blog.  I haven't forgotten about you.  I'm just still trying to find a happy balance in all of my responsibilities and failing miserably every day.  Here is a trip we took back in September for a belated anniversary celebration.  I have been avoiding this post since it was a long one, but I had made this book and thought, hey sharing it here would be way easier than retyping it all!  Enjoy!

Fishing

Trevor took the boys fishing with his friend, Dean.  This was not the first time Trevor has taken the boys fishing.  It was, however, the first time they have actually caught fish!  They were pretty excited about it.  I was told the fish were thrown back into the water.  Hopefully that is the truth and it wasn't just to spare my feelings.

After fishing they ran into a skunk.  He was spooked but thankfully he wasn't scared enough to spray.  I enjoyed my evening with 1 child.  I celebrated by going shopping at Target.  I always enjoy a good Target trip!  It was a fun evening for all!

PS.  My creative writing is on vacation.  I'm not sure when or if it will return.  This explains my lack of posts recently and the lack of creativity in those rare posts that sporadically appear every few weeks.  Another hobby that has stepped out on me is cooking.  We have survived on freezer food longer than I would like to admit.  Hopefully my interests will return soon.  I keep thinking about those fairies on Sleeping Beauty.  One of my favorite parts of the movie is when they decide to break their vow and take their wands out of hiding to make Rose's birthday perfect.  Oh that I could acquire one of those wands to do my cleaning and laundry for me.  Those Disney fairy tales sure do send the wrong message.  "No matter how your heart is dreaming, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true."  Um, I'm pretty sure I will never get that wand, no matter how much I wish for it.  Thanks Disney.

Little Helper

So, now that Adam is mobile, he has decided to start pitching in around the house.  He is more than happy to help and is constantly looking for jobs to do.  Here he is after cleaning the fire place.

He worked really hard.  Poor little guy is tuckered out!  Unfortunately, the fire place still looks the same and now he needs a cleaning.  Sigh.

Here, Adam has decided to help me unpack the cooler.  Unfortunately, we were trying to pack it to leave for Pinetop.  Sometimes he gets the instructions wrong.  Pretty typical..he's still in training.

He is also a wonderful taste tester.  He loves to put EVERYTHING in his mouth.  Including baby wipes, paper towels and soap.  I find it comical that I have to force him to eat his baby food, but he independently eats any non-food item and appears to enjoy them!

There are still some crinks to work out with the new help but I think with some proper training he will turn out very useful.

Preschool..Take Two

Hunter started preschool again.  He is going to his same school again so it was an easy day with no surprises.  He does miss having his cousin Alek in his class, but he took it better than I thought.  It was nice to rediscover my freedom with only 1 child in tow.  I missed it!  It was a rough summer running errands with the 3 boys.  I avoided it as much as possible, but sometimes I just couldn't.  Things are much calmer at the grocery store now.

He came out of school smiling and happy.  That's all that matters!  I don't even want to think about him being old enough to go to Kindergarten next year.  I am not looking forward to that!
