Brand New Big Brother

The boys have taken to Ashlyn better than I thought they would. Adam has been the biggest sweetheart to her. He tells everyone about his new baby sister named "Ash-win Kisstine". He always wants to say hi to her & give her kisses. He loves her and has been the most excited of the boys about her joining our family despite the fact that she's taking away some of his spotlight. I love to see him be sweet to her.

Pink

No I did not wash our white clothes with a red sock. I have been sorting through clothes to get them ready for her. Having all this pink around us is something that is so foreign in this house!

Big Night

It was a big night for 2 of my boys.
Hunter lost his first top tooth. He has been working on it all day. After his shower he was standing in front of the mirror wiggling it. I told him he should try to twist it. It was out a few minutes later. He was SO happy! He said, "Now I get some money tonight!" He is already having trouble with his "s's".

Our other milestone was reached by Adam tonight.
He got to sleep in the big bed in Hunter's room. He was so thrilled to qualify as a "big boy" and get to sleep with Hunter. I have been dragging my feet about moving him. I just like them all in their own little space. I feel like they sleep better and I have somewhere to send them when they are all fighting. It was easier on me because Adam was excited about it. I don't like change at all, but if they are willing & excited, I can make an effort to accept it. We'll see how the rest of the night goes. Hopefully he will stay put and want to sleep there again tomorrow so I can start getting his room ready for the baby. She will be here 8 weeks from yesterday!! It seems like such a short time compared with what I want to get done and now a fire has been lit under my bum. Time to get cracking!! I can rest after the baby comes. Haha yeah right.

Baseball Injury

The boys are starting baseball so Trevor took them outside to play some catch. About 10 minutes later, Trevor came in, carrying Adam, telling me that he got hit in the face with the ball and he may have a broken nose. He pulled Adam away from his shirt where his head was buried and all I saw was blood. Jacob had thrown the ball and it ended up in Adam's face somehow. He felt really bad. We cleaned up the blood & iced it down. Thankfully, it doesn't appear to be broken. Just very, very swollen. He can barely breathe out of it. I'm pretty sure we are in for a black eye or two in the next few days! The joys of having boys!

Meet the Teacher Breakfast

The boys had their Primary meet the teacher breakfast and the incoming Sunbeams were told to bring a toy.  Adam couldn't decide between his Power Ranger gloves, his Batarang handcuffs, his Robin mask and his stethoscope, so he just brought them all.  Thankfully, his teacher helped him remove his gloves so he could eat his donut, but they were back on his hands when I picked him up an hour later. These are his favorite things right now and he carries them almost every time we leave the house. I guess they are his accessories. Haha

Time Out

Hunter set his own timer for time out. Not sure if it was an accident or if he feels like that's an appropriate time to serve for his naughty behavior on Christmas Eve. Haha

Binky Withdrawls

Adam has done a great job at avoiding the terrible twos. He is such a happy kid and so sweet and loving. When he turned 3 last week, we reached the end of his binky. He happily gave it to me in exchange for being a "big boy". He has only asked about it a few times and seems to be handling the separation maturely. The problem we are now having is, no binky means no naps. And no naps means multiple meltdowns daily. My happy little boy has turned into an emotional nightmare. I have asked myself more than once during his screaming hysterics, "is this really a better alternative to him having a binky?" With a binky, he will take a nap. With a binky, he will go to bed and stay in bed at night, instead of getting out of his bed multiple times for various reasons before he finally stays and falls asleep. With a binky, he will go back to sleep when he wakes up at 6:30 am after no nap for days and going to bed late because he won't stay in his bed. Sometimes growing up is not that great. Tonight, after he calmed himself down from his latest screaming fit, he told me, "I'm glad you took my binky away."  That made me so sad because I know it's been rough on him to learn how to sleep without it. Hopefully he will adjust soon because his demon screaming is kind of scaring me! I might miss his binky more than he does!!
