We have been having so much fun this Spring Break that I am a little disappointed it's flying by so quickly! I was looking forward to a calm and relaxing week since we didn't have any travel plans!
On Monday we had friends come over to play.
On Tuesday, we went to the zoo with some family. It was the hottest day of the year so far..the last time it was this hot was in November. We..let me rephrase..I am NOT excited for summertime! My boys can hardly wait since they know when it's hot they can go swimming! They have been frequently asking and I keep reminding them the water is too cold. Not for long!
Here are some shots from the zoo:
Jacob: "I think he's in time out."
This poor mandrill has probably feels like he's been in time out his whole life being locked up in this zoo!
Dear Mandrill..Thanks for sacrificing your freedom so we can come gawk and make monkey noises at you!!!
These little guys were just hanging out by the window when this baboon jumped up to get a closer look at them. Maybe he thinks we are his zoo!!
Jacob decided to tease the baboon and try to offer him a fruit snack.
Is there anything cuter than this monkey?? He was in a tree right next to the trail in the monkey exhibit. We could literally reach out and touch him. I had to warn the kids that if they did, the monkey would scratch them. True?? I don't know, but I didn't want them to get any ideas.
The poor kids were SO looking forward to playing in the water area, which happened to be closed that day. BUMMER! This automated mister just didn't cut it!
Cousins having fun!
Sometimes I feel a little sorry for my kids. They don't have any fuzzy animals to snuggle up to. Jacob's serverely allergic to cats. Turtles just don't give off the same warm fuzzies.
He was in heaven! These goats were most likely in a different place..
The girl in the background holding her baby is a little peeved at me for cutting in front of them. I didn't realize it until after all the picture taking. I apologized and promptly removed Hunter from the tractor. Whoops!
I have found it's impossible to get a picture of all 4 boys looking at the camera simultaneously!
Trevor's mom treated us to In-N-Out afterward (THANKS!!). We (the adults) were all exhausted! It was probably from the heat since we haven't subjected our bodies to since November, apparently!! My boys had fun making body art out of their In-N-Out sticker sheets!
More Spring Break fun to come...
