We stayed up late to watch a movie last night and Trevor climbed into bed while I was getting ready. When I got into bed, he was invading my side (as usual) so I gave him a soft nudge and he rolled over. No sooner did I hear him gasp a few times and jump out of bed. I kept asking him what was wrong. He ran over and turned on the light, then told me to get out of bed. I looked over and saw this creepy scorpion crawling across his side. It was a pretty good size. I jumped up and ran to get a cup to catch it in. Scorpions are already creepy enough, but to have one in bed with you?? That is just crossing the creepy line over into disturbing territory.
Trevor got stung twice on his side and the areas were swelling up fast. We sat down on the bed to wait and make sure his stings were going to be fine when we noticed another critter crawling in between us on the bed. We both jumped up, only to find our current pest problem:
We threw the cricket in with the scorpion, who was much too afraid to do anything about it, as we tore our bed apart to make sure it was critter-free. When we got everything all put back together and decided to return to bed, I saw another cricket on the ground by the wall. Trevor caught it for me, since those things have been wreaking havoc on my sleep lately while they chirp all night in our bedroom. Our cricket drama began a few weeks ago. After some sleepless nights, I complained to Trevor as a cricket sat somewhere hiding in our room, chirping. He tracked it down to the corner of our bedroom where he found a number of them hiding under the carpet. He went outside to get some bug spray and found out we were being invaded. Hundreds of them were crawling all over the walls and hopping all over the ground. He sprayed our entire exterior, but apparently it hasn't even phased them.
We finally got calmed down and into bed last night. He decided to watch TV for a bit before attempting to go to sleep again. A few minutes later he said, "you've got to be kidding me!" Another cricket was crawling in our bed next to Trevor. He tried to capture it, but lost it in the dark.
After last night, we are fed up and gearing up for battle. Trevor noticed that he has lost sensation where he got stung. It's just numb. It's crazy how powerful those dreadful bugs are!
Beware crickets and scorpions! You messed with the wrong house! NO MERCY!
