2nd Child Klutz Curse

Hunter has been getting hurt an awful lot lately.  I expect CPS to come investigating any minute!

This kid is trying to give me a heart attack.  This is just a few weeks after the lip incident.  While he was playing outside, he tripped and fell into the log pile.  One of the logs had a branch sticking up.  When I got to him, his eyelid had a grape-sized welt on it.  These pictures were taken after the ice did it's magic and my blood pressure lowered.  Luckily, it missed his actual eye.
We are so grateful it wasn't worse!!

The next morning it was puffy.
Here are some daily pictures to chart the healing progress.

The day after his eye incident, there was a toe incident.  We were going to get ice cream and when I opened the door to the store, his toe ran right into the bottom of the door.  His toe nail got bent pretty far back and it bled.  I'm pretty certain it will fall off eventually.
I'm not sure why all of a sudden he is so klutzy.  Every single day he gets hurt by something.  When I hear him crying I think..what now?  It is getting so exhausting worrying about his safety!

CPS actually showed up at my daughter's house last year. Her five year old fell at church and hit his head against the pew in front of them and gave him a black eye. His dad laughed and told him that people would think his dad hit him. The next day at school, his teacher asked what happened and he told her his dad hit her (his reason was that he didn't want his teacher to know he went to church. Of course, the teacher had to report it so the police showed up at katie's house. That day, the younger boys were jumping off the top bunk and one hit his head and he too had a bruise on his face. pretty soon CPS showed up and interviewed the whole family. Apparently, they passed the test because no one was removed from the house.

Oh, poor little guy! I saw his shiner at church, but I didn't have a chance to ask him what happened.

Iris is my klutzy one. Last summer was a series of facial mishaps, I'm surprised her nose ever recovered!
