Unpleasant Awakening

At 2:45 AM, Jacob came into our room and told Trevor "there's someone in the house!" I woke up to Trevor flying out of bed & down the hall. I came out to see what was going on. Jacob told us he heard noise like someone walking upstairs (he sleeps in the basement). He came up to see who was awake and he saw the shadow of a man hunched over by the counter. Trevor had searched the house and found nothing but that Jacob has a wild imagination. He was a little irritated. I got Jacob back to his room after I searched the basement, per his request. I told him I'm sure he saw something that he thought looked like a person, but that it was probably his eyes playing tricks on him. Back in our bed, I couldn't fall back asleep for a while. I was a little spooked just thinking about the what ifs. Trevor was wide awake too. He left the room to watch TV and was never able to fall bak asleep. I fell back asleep sometime after 4. I'm sure it took Jacob a while to fall back asleep too cause he was conked out when I woke him for school a few hours later. We will all be turning in early tonight!
